MyVA Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the MyVA application, developed by ProyectoNube, collects, uses, and protects user information. By using MyVA, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

  • Vehicle data (make/model, license plate, odometer/mileage, service history)
  • Service / maintenance dates
  • Optional contact information if you provide it (e.g., email address)
  • Approximate and background location only if enabled to estimate automatic vehicle mileage

1.1 Background Location Usage (Optional)

If you activate the Automatic Odometer, the app may access background location solely to estimate vehicle mileage. Data is used locally to update your service history and to notify you when maintenance is approaching. Location data is not shared with third parties and is not used for advertising purposes. You can enable/disable this feature and permissions at any time from your system settings and within the app.

2. In-App Purchases

MyVA offers free features and an optional Premium subscription via in-app purchases. We do not store payment card data. Billing and subscription management are handled by the platform provider:

  • iOS: Apple (App Store). Manage in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
  • Android: Google Play. Manage in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Display reminders and upcoming services
  • Personalize the in-app experience
  • Improve features based on aggregated usage

4. Third-Party Services

We may use services such as Firebase, Expo, and Google Analytics for metrics and notifications. These services may process technical identifiers according to their own privacy policies.

5. Security

We employ reasonable safeguards to protect your information. We do not sell your data. We only disclose information when required by law.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your personal data by emailing info@proyectonube.com. Much of the data is stored locally on your device and is removed automatically when you uninstall the app.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Any material changes will be communicated within the app or on this page.

8. Use of Artificial Intelligence

MyVA includes an optional AI-based assistant that generates personalized maintenance recommendations using a language model provided by OpenAI. Suggestions are based solely on the technical data you provide (e.g., service history, dates, mileage). The AI does not access sensitive device data. Recommendations are informational and do not replace professional diagnosis. You can disable this feature in the app settings.
